Background:

Objectives:

Delaware Valley Business Resumption Information Exchange Group (DVBRIEG) was originally started in the 60's.

It was one of the first groups formed in the country to address the needs of those individuals who were responsible for getting their data centers up and running after a disaster.

Today the industry has grown beyond the data centers and IT to encompass the entire organization.

Recovering business offices, manufacturing, technology and warehousing facilities after a crisis and mitigating those loses is now included in the job description of most Recovery Planners.

The organization has grown with the needs of our members and continues to do so, by constantly looking for ways to improve the services that we provide.

Our membership represents over 200 companies across 17 different industries.

We serve mostly businesses and government agencies within the eastern PA, southern NJ and northern Delaware area.

DVBRIEG is run entirely by volunteers.

To promote the education of its members in the interrelated concerns of risk assessment, business impact analysis, disaster mitigation and business resumption/continuity and disaster recovery planning.

To encourage a free exchange of techniques, approaches, and problem solving between its members.

To provide a forum for keeping members informed of current industry trends and events.

To educate management of the importance of establishing viable business resumption/continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure a timely and effective recovery of business operations in the event of a disaster.
